About

Well, I have finally decided to put a little bit of information about me here.  If you want to know more, go to my very first blog entry under the category “Introduction” and entitled “Hang On Ol’ Buddy, Here We Go.”

I choose not to use my name or the names of my family members.  I don’t know why, I’m just weird that way.

In a synopsis, I am a follower of Jesus Christ who wants to pursue Him with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength.  I want to abide in Him and live everyday to please Him.  John 15 is my favorite chapter in the Bible.

I have been happily married to a wonderful woman for 17+ years.  We met in college.  Actually, she arranged it to where she got my name in the “adopt a Freshman” program.  It was a “God thing” because we were made for each other.  I had to go to various beef packing plants to do research when I was in college and she went many times so we could spend time together.  Her stepdad told her mom that if she would do that kind of stuff just to spend time with me, we were going to get married.  He was right!  She is an awesome wife, mother, cook, and servant of Jesus Christ.  I can’t imagine doing life with anyone else.

We have four great kids.  Three girls (12, 9, and 7) and a boy (5).  They keep us hopping.  They each have their own individual personalities and gifts, and I enjoy time spent with each one.  Our oldest loves sports (especially basketball), swimming, baking, and 4-H.  She also loves school, and is really good at math and spelling.  Our second daughter is more artsy.  She can find beauty in about anything.  She is also good at school, and enjoys dance and cheerleading.  Our youngest daughter gets excited about lots of things and has an incredible amount of energy.  She has often been described as having dancing eyes and being very expressive.  She is good at bringing out the smiles in those around her.  This will be her first year in 4H, and she just got involved in shooting sports.   Our son has rocked our world.  He is so different.  Tractors, large equipment, and tools fascinate him.  He loves to wrestle with me every chance he gets.  He is high energy and you never know what he will do next…

My wife has a degree in chemistry, and was a chemist until our oldest was 6 months old, at which time she left the work force to be a stay-at-home mom.  We have never regretted this decision.  She did daycare out of the house for several years.  I worked in research and development for a meat company for 9 years before accepting the call into ministry.  It has been a much better fit.  God has provided for us in amazing ways.

One of my main missions in life is to battle fatherlessness and it’s effects.  God has given me many opportunities to do this from different angles.  You will see this come out in many of my blog entries.

Thanks for reading, and feel free to comment on any of the entries.

God Bless!

Most of my time as a single parent I didn’t have a very good relationship with God It would have been so nice to have had something like this to read for encouragement! How awesome that this is what you and your wife are focused on ministering to! What I’ve seen of your blog is great, I’m adding it to my blog roll so others can see it and be blessed. God is good!
