I have officially taken a dive into the world of blogging. I am technologically behind, but I’ll give it a shot. Look out world, here it is, my very first blog entry…
About the username: The name “noguff” means just that. The word “guff” in the dictionary is defined as empty words. If I don’t have something that I think is valuable or encouraging for someone, I will just not write that day. One of my purposes on this earth is to encourage others, and I pray that I can do that through this blog.
About the title: Many people have told me that when I speak, they can tell it comes from my heart. That’s what I want to do with this blog. I want to speak encouraging things from the heart that will help people. Most of the things I share will be those things I sense God is teaching me at that moment. I love to spend time with God early in the morning. That sets the tone for the rest of the day. Two of my “life scriptures” are John 15 and Matthew 6:33. I want to abide in Christ and He in me and I want to seek God first in all things. That’s what will produce a fruitful life.
I am a servant and follower of our Lord Jesus Christ, and in everything I do, I want to honor and glorify Him first and foremost.
In future blogs, you will probably find resources and encouragement for single parent families, parenting (particularly fatherhood), marriage, strengthening families in general, stewardship, and spiritual growth. Not that I’m an expert in any of these things, but these are usually the areas of most interest to me and areas where God teaches me the most. I can usually find a lesson in just about every life situation!
